WHO IS START?
ALEISHA
Hey I'm Aleisha, a team member and Youth Coach of START! I spent a year in the big U.S of A, living and working in Chicago in 2008. I had the time of my life and pleased to be back in our amazing country. I have a passion for youth and seeing them reach their full potential and I know what it's like to make the transition into the 'real world'. Sometimes we need that helping hand or a bit of encouragement to kick start it off. Come in and see us and what we've got to offer. We're excited to be a part of your journey!
AMOKURA
Nga mihi matakuikui ki a koutou katoa. My name is Amokura and I am a youth worker here at START. I recently completed my final year of study at Massey University with a degree in Sport and Exercise. I enjoy playing sport and I am willing to give anything a go. I am excited to be a part of the team and look forward to working with youth as they are the leaders of tomorrow. FRANK
Frank is a key member of the team who assists the team to find our young people who have changed their local address, phone number, or city. Frank works part-time on a Monday and has been a part of the team since 2008.
JANELLE
Tena Koutou katoa, My name is Janelle and have been on this awesome journey with START to support our youth in the positive choices they make, whether its staying in school, moving on to other training places, or gaining employment. My job at START is to support the youth coaches and clients. I'm really looking forward to helping you stay on track and will encourage you to reach for your goals and you will achieve them. PETE
I'™m the Service Manager for START. I have a background in youth work and community development. Making the right choices in life is such a huge task, especially as a young person with all of life'™s challenges. Our role is to assist youth, developing and following a vocational plan, whilst remaining within the schooling system, seeking career paths, accessing training and movement towards employment. I am passionate about assisting young people in reaching their potential. Mauri Ora!
RAUNA
Kia Ora, I'™m the Office Manager for START! My background is in administration but I'™m currently studying part-time towards a degree in Social Work - 2011 is hopefully my final year of study. I am looking forward to moving into the heart of this service - to help you achieve your ultimate future.
RONGO
Tena koutou ko Rongo ahau. I'm the Administrator for START. I have a Diploma in Teaching and have a background in banking. I'm excited and look forward in assisting our awesome and dedicated team here to help you get where you need to be. So, go ahead and make my day - come on into START and we will show you the way. STEWART
Talofa Lava! Hi my name is Stewart but you can call me Stew. I was privileged enough to become a Youth Coach for the START Team and will be adding a Pacific Flavour. Life is all about the choices we make, and sometimes the choices we make can be negative but we at START can offer you help to find the positives. I'm into sports and love a challenge, enjoy meeting people, and down for a good time. My goal at START is to see young people active and giving employment or education a go, remember it's not the destination but the journey that matters the most.
